This demonstrational database was constructed for the purpose of demonstrating the uses of an inter-relational database. It's purpose is to clarify and demonstrate the digital process of saving records into the states database for longevity purposes.
Currently the State of Georgia uses a paper based system which is expensive and antiquated with many pitfalls concerning records storage and retrieval. The records retention forms presented are duplicates of the existing paper forms, presented to us by the various agencies. We only use the Official Seal on those agency forms and web pages of which we have conducted business and received approval to do so.
These form would be handled in a digital process that would rival the paper process. Meaning, the use and flow characteristics would be identical but in a digital format as opposed to paper. This method not only eliminates the paper factor but also the associated costs to maintain such a system.
To include a much improved employee performance capability by as much as 1000% on a matched work load.
To quote the Director of the State Archives, "digital format is faster and more accurate" although we differ with his claims that paper lasts longer than digital records in a normal records keeping environment.
